Movie Review: Hachi: A Dog's Tale 2009

Synopsis from IMDB
In Bedridge, Professor Parker Wilson finds an abandoned dog at the train station and takes it home with the intention of returning the animal to its owner. He finds that the dog is an Akita and names it Hachiko. However, nobody claims the dog so his family decides to keep Hachi.

A drama based on the true story of a college professor's bond with the abandoned dog he takes into his home. (The English version of the Japanese Movie
- Hachi-Ko 1987.)

This movie made me cry my eyes out!!!! Seriously.. seeing momo shadow everywhere.... :( Oh well, whenever I see any "pets" or animals related movies(even before momo pass).. always made me cry without failing! It's the thoughts about losing that made me cry :( But I still love to watch it)

The love between Parker and Hachi was so powerful that nothing can replace it... Super heartwarming and tearful movie... I enjoy the cuteness, lovely and sadness.

This is the original Hachi...
(Click here to read about the story of the Royal Friend Hachi)

My Rating:
7/10 for the plot(this is a simple movie)
10/10 for the love between the owner and the dog

Korean Drama Review : City Hall

I have been so crazy with this set of mini series that I cannot focus on anything else! lolx... The couple were so cute la!

OK.. here's the Synopsis(From koreandrama.org)
City Hall is a drama that will deal with politics in a romantic comedy genre. It’s about the happenings between a young woman mayor and an elite bureaucrat. Jo Gook is an exceedingly smart government official. He passed the Higher Civil Service quickly, and basically is the perfect guy. But being a deputy mayor is not enough for him. He lives with the dream of becoming South Korea’s President. He should have easily gone straight to the top, but due to an unexpected incident, he gets dispatched as a deputy mayor for a provincial small town, Inju City, where Shin Mi Rae was working. Shin Mi Rae is a low-ranking secretary in Inju, but she works her way up in becoming the youngest City Mayor. As their paths met, they have to deal with each other’s personal and social differences. But despite their constant bickerings, would they end up in each other’s arms?

Jo Gook and Shin Mi Rae are such a cute and lovely couple in the drama... Hmm.. the synopsis already tell you everythings you wanna know about the drama... but this is a really cute and funny comedy... I was laughing so hard on most of the funny parts! lolx

Just abit weird... Jo Gook(lead actor) already have a fiancées, but during the whole drama... he didn't have much interaction with her nor seeing any romance feel between each other! Shin Mi Rae (lead actress) was the 3rd party... but in this drama, you won't feel it that way(pretty weird huh.. lolx). The cutest part was that Jo Gook loved Mi Rae so much that it was so cute la!

Now.. I have been so head over heel with Cha Seung Won (becos of this drama) and Alex O'Loughlin from Hawaii 5 O... (He's so damn sexy in this series.. way sexy then Mick St.John in Moonlight! lolx) "Fan self"... "HOT" and not forgetting Jensen Ackles!! lolx
Rating 8/10
Cuteness 9/10

Movie Review: The Loved Ones

Trailer

Directed by Sean Byrne and starring a hot, young, talented cast including Xavier Samuel (Eclipse), Robin McLeavy (Streetcar Named Desire with Cate Blanchett), Jessica McNamee (Packed to the Rafters), Victoria Thaine (Caterpillar Wish) and Richard Wilson (Clubland) with John Brumpton (Last Ride) playing ‘Daddy’ it’s a vivid, sexy rollercoaster of a ride that takes the conventions of horror and runs them off the rails.

Synopsis
Brent (Samuel) never recovered from the car crash that killed his father: the crash that he was responsible for. His only solace is his loving girlfriend Holly (Thaine). But there's another girl who yearns to comfort Brent, the quietest girl in school, Lola (McLeavy), and when he turns down her invitation to the end of year dance he enters a nightmare beyond imagining.

A terrifying series of events take place under the light of a mirrored disco ball, involving pink satin, glitter, syringes, nails and power drills. Brent must summon every ounce of will he possesses if he is to survive and prevent Lola and her father from extending their revenge to those he loves the most.

I thought this would be an interesting and exciting movie... turn out quite disappointing!! Nothing too thrill except that I can't stop thinking how "sickening" the dad and the daughter were!!!

After the basic introducing of the characters plus the setting/storyline.... The movie begins where the lonely, shy and quiet girl's Lola attacked Brent from behind and bound him to a chair at a table in her living room.

And the sick and psychopathic stuff happened.. Lola and her dad torturing Brent...

Well, nothing much to say.... Just go see the movie yourself if you enjoy gore and psycho movie (I like, but this was abit boring... as some scenes were abit dragful). Maybe you will like it.

Anyway... I quite like the storyline... if only they have cuter casts(wahahhaaa).

My Rating: 6/10

Drama review: You're Beautiful (Kdrama)

Synopsis From wiki::
The management company of the idol group A.N.JELL insisted on adding a new singer to the group as the lead vocal, Tae Kyung's voice was hurting. However, the new member, Mi Nam, had to go to the States to repair a botched eye job just before signing the contract. His agent came up with the idea of having his twin sister, Mi Nyu,to stand in for him and pretend that she was her brother. The two of them grew up in an orphanage and Mi Nyu, who was all set to become a nun, agreed to this charade as she didn't want to spoil her brother's chance of fame which would make it easier to look for their mother.

OMy... I'm so loving this drama!!! All the casts in this drama were so cute and not forgetting the wonderful OST!!!!

This was a really sweet and cute drama..
nothing too serious...
nobody dies...
no one was so poor that they have to sell their own organs...
nobody got serious illness like cancer! Heehee

It's about this girl Mi Nyu, who dressed up like her twin brother Mi Nam and get into this popular teen band A.N. Jell. So she have to try her best not to get discover until her brother come home. The whole drama was so comical! lolx

The fashion of this drama were really nice~ very unique... and also the funny hairstyles (I like I like!) And their house was really cute too!

As for the casts:
Jang Geun Suk:: was so different(I means his role)... but I like it! Heehee
I love his older movies like "Do re mi fa so la ti do" and "Baby and Me"

Lee Hong Gi:: Lead singer of FT Island(My fave korean band beside Bigband and CN Blue!)... he was so cute in the drama... now I can never see FT Island the way I used to see! Hahahah (More cuter now!)

Jung Yong Hwa:: Lead Singer of CN Blue (One of my fave band too)
He's new... the band just launch late last year... and their song I'm a loner was a hit (I love that song so much ever since I first heard it at music bank- yes it's in my playlist!!! lolx) Great acting... he look abit different.. I prefer his ownself rather then the charater in the drama. Cos I like his proud proud look/feel when he's onstage! heehee

Park Shin Hye:: Amazing.. I never really liked her in her past dramas's (Goong S and Tree of Heaven). She look so cute and chubby in You're beautiful! Likey (and my mum commented that she look cuter dressed up as a guy! HAhahaa)

The teaser was so cute!!!!

One of my fave song in the drama Well... all the songs in this drama were really GOOD!

One such refugee is a 20-year-old girl named Chisato, who lost her mother at a young age due to sickness. She spent her youth trying to escape from the huge debt her father left her, and her battle with the repossessors unfolded every night. However, her life changed after meeting one man named Shinzo, changing her views on the meaning of "family." Shinzo promises to free Chisato from her debt if she marries him and becomes the mother of his sons. However, a life with these six guys under one roof will not go smoothly.

Synopsis from the back of the DVD set.

I enjoy this drama so much!! For Japanese dramas, I personally prefer dectective/horror/comedy Japanese dramas over romance or sad tragic drama!! Because it always have weird or full of "???" ending! lolx Which I find it rather frustrating.. but sometimes it does have nice romantic Japanese Drama(I know, I know! I have mention it many times before on my Jdrama's reviews!)

Anyway... This was a cute, silly and funny drama.. nothing too drastic.(It's not really a well made drama.. but it's passable for the funny and non logic plots)

This was not a romantic drama too but there this little sweet love between the leading actress and the 3rd son(cuties in the drama! Hahahaha... me likey). I find them pretty kawaii together! Heehee

Here's the pics of the family...

MY Rating: 7.9/10
